Amanda Young is a writer, director and producer. After paying her dues in the production world as a production assistant and associate producer in film and television, she spent two years on the road as Taylor Swift’s documentarian for the Speak Now World Tour and the RED Promo tour. During this time, Amanda honed her skills as a camera operator, photographer and non-fiction storyteller. Being a New Year's Eve baby, Amanda ended her time on the RED promo tour by spending her twenty-fifth birthday in Times Square shooting Taylor's performance at Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve.
After spending seven years working in documentary and reality television as a camera assistant, camera operator and producer, Amanda shifted her focus to narrative and commercial storytelling. As a director, Amanda loves to tell the story of why a brand matters to its core base, exploring how a brand is an integral part of our human experience and connects us to one another. Amanda focuses on revealing the deeply emotional ways that brands play meaningful roles in our lives. Most recently, Amanda directed and wrote for a short project for End Slavery Tennessee called "Every 2 Minutes", where the stories focused on the moment of betrayal when a minor is sold into human trafficking.
Amanda has directed brand work for Budweiser, Remington, End Slavery Tennessee, and Project Return. She is also an accomplished photographer, having most recently worked on Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty Tour 360. When she is not writing or directing, she loves to be hiking and camping. Amanda is inspired by women who are changing the world through their honesty and their vision for change in their industries like Reed Morano, Megan Rapinoe, Rachel Morrison, Carrie Underwood, Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
